What happens when a mum and dad work together to find a solution to their daughter’s dermatitis?

How Miracle Tan™ was created

Andrea and Dr Moss first got the idea for Miracle Tan™ when their daughter, Sophie Moss, was experiencing flare-ups of dermatitis.

‘Sophie suffered from unexplained bouts of dermatitis for two years,’ Andrea explains. ‘She thought it was caused by her make-up. However, after thorough investigation we found it was caused by the self-tan products she was using.’

This realisation started their journey to create a self-tan product that Sophie’s sensitive skin could tolerate – one that would improve the health of her skin rather than harm it.

As Sophie has an oily t-zone, they added clarifying actives to the formula to help control the excess oil that is associated with teenage skin.

Andrea then created an alternative formulation that was better suited to drier and more mature skin like her own. In this version, the clarifying actives were replaced with rejuvenating actives.

And so, the two formulas were born: Miracle Tan™ for Normal to Oily Skin and Miracle Tan™ for Normal to Dry Skin.

Once the formulas were ready, Andrea had the dermal clinicians at Liberty Belle Skin Centre test them personally. This ended up being a godsend to the clinicians, as they were constantly fielding questions from patients about which tanning products they recommended.

After trying Miracle Tan™ for themselves and seeing the benefits, the clinicians were happy to report that they finally had an answer for their patients!

Tested and approved by dermal clinicians – not to mention by Sophie and Andrea themselves – the positive reviews only kept coming after the product was launched.

How Miracle Tan™ works

Miracle Tan™ provides a sun-free tan using all-natural ingredients. Unlike many other tanning products, it is also formulated to be a luxurious moisturiser and boasts a range of beneficial actives for hydration, skin support, and antioxidant protection. 

Both versions of Miracle Tan™ use DHA and Erythrulose to provide a tanned look to the skin. These ingredients are sugar-based and completely natural.

The formulations are then enriched by a range of additional actives, including Hyaluronic Acid, Panthenol and Hydration Saccharide for hydration, and Caffeine, Resveratrol and Vitamin E for antioxidant skin protection.

Miracle Tan™ for Normal to Oily Skin (created for Sophie)

Contains clarifying actives for normal to oily skin types. Particularly suited to teens and young adults.

• Papaya Extract - helps optimise hydration and boost skin condition.
• Prickly Pear Seed Oil - contains hydrating, antibacterial and antioxidant properties.
• Tea Tree Esssential Oil – a clarifying active with antibacterial properties that helps balance the skin and reduce the appearance of blemishes.
• Manuka Essential Oil - an antibacterial oil that helps reduce blemishes, soothe irritation and improve the complexion.

Miracle Tan™ for Normal to Dry Skin (created for Andrea)

Contains rejuvenating actives for dry to normal skin types. Particularly suited to mature skin.

• Squalane - a plant-derived active that mimics and replaces natural oils found in the skin to help lock in moisture and protect the skin barrier.
• Acai Sterols - antioxidant-rich sterols improve skin barrier function and hydration levels.
• Watermelon Seed Oil - a light oil that hydrates the skin.

 

How to use Miracle Tan™

Miracle Tan™ can provide a lighter or darker tan depending on how long you leave it on the skin, allowing it to suit a wide range of skin types. It also boasts Skin Adaptive Colour Technology, and the tanning ingredients are enhanced by a multi-layered active complex.

Begin by cleansing your skin. Once it has thoroughly dried, dispense two pumps of Miracle Tan™ and apply evenly to the face and neck until it has been absorbed. Wash hands after application.

For a lighter tan, leave on for 2-4 hours before washing off. For a deeper tan, apply in the evening and leave it on overnight, then wash off with your morning cleanse. To maintain or deepen your tan, reapply as needed.

We recommend that you start by leaving the product on for 2-4 hours. This will allow you to gauge whether you need to leave it on for longer or whether a shorter application suits you best.
