Lip Enhancement

Our lips are a facial feature that others focus on making us very conscious of the size and shape of our lips. Fuller lips are considered attractive or even sensuous whereas thin lips often give a mean or stressed appearance. Dermal filler injections safely refine, fill, lift or plump the lips as well as re-define the shape of the lip or lip line. Contrary to common belief, muscle-relaxing anti-wrinkle injections are not used for enhancing the volume or fullness of the lips.

And as we age, the red vermillion of the lip gradually becomes thinner, the lip line flattens, the corners of the mouth begin to droop, the upper lip tends to flatten out, roll in and lose volume. Vertical lines can appear and cause lipstick to bleed, particularly in smokers.

How long does the treatment take?

Lip enhancement takes about 30 minutes.

Will it be painful?

The area usually requires some numbing with local anaesthetic to reduce discomfort which is only temporary.

Are there any side effects?

There is usually some swelling and occasionally bruising but these resolve within about 24 – 48 hours.

How long will the effect last?

The duration of the effect varies depending on the product used as well as from person to person. The results are not permanent but decline slowly over time so treatments can be repeated or altered to suit your desired result.
